All three regions of Himachal Pradesh, Ladakh, and Garhwal offer the ultimate challenge for the climber. These peaks lie within easy access to main towns in the vicinity and Marco Polo with its years of experience in organising mountaineering expeditions gives all logistic and ground support. Mountaineers are advised to bring their own climbing equipment while we provide all camp and associated staff - Porters, pack ponies, mountain guides. Permission is required from the Central Government through the Indian Mountaineering Federation in Delhi which we shall procure for your intended expedition. The IMF charges a fee for each peak that you plan to attempt and provides a Liaison officer to accompany the expedition. You should let us know of your expedition dates and the peak you want to attempt at least 3 months in advance to facilitate processing of all documentation by the IMF. Any change on the number of members or dates will mean another months delay in processing. Members of the expedition must have insurance cover for accident risks and ground/ helicopter search and rescue. A copy of the insurance policy is required to be handed over to the IMF at the time of briefing of the expedition in New Delhi.
